HERE COME THE FUTURE

KICKING OFF A NEW ERA OF FOOTBALL IN AUSTRALIA

To launch the A-Leagues Here Come the Future platform, Entropico were enlisted to produce a music video for a new anthem Real Nice (H.C.T.F.) featuring Aussie artists Young Franco and Tkay Maidza. The project also featured Melbourne City FC legend Marco Tilio and Sydney FC and Australian Matildas goalkeeper Jada Whyman, as well as iconic commentator Simon Hill.

 The innovative spot took out silver and bronze category wins at the 2022 Clios and AWARD Awards.

THE APPROACH

We flexed the skills of our ARIA-nominated director Gabriel Gasparinatos who worked with some of Australia’s best up-and-coming artists, illustrators and animators on the mixed media approach.

We worked in many different executions to bring this project to life including 3D world building, VFX, frame by frame cartoon animation as well as the package design for the cereal boxes. We also designed a custom soccer ball installation for Tkay Maidza’s performance moments, which we built on a sound stage in Los Angeles for her shoot day. And worked with acclaimed lighting designer Sam Whiteside on a live show lighting setup for the final performance moments of the film.

THE VISUALS

The film clip was showing the sports stars as children and how they have grown to what they are now so we aimed to reflect a childlike nostalgic feeling throughout all our different styles and executions. Beautiful surrealist 3d worlds, Bright glowing tech style VFX, frame by frame illustrated cartoon sequences all came together to create this nostalgic world.

There was also a constant propulsive motion throughout that was constantly driving the viewer from one frame to another. Whether that was flying through a cable in the broadcast van or flying straight through the pump hole of a soccer ball, you were constantly being sucked from one scene to the next.
