Playful. Clever. Interactive. It’s a quiz – for people who like to party.

Entropico created the visual identity and creative assets for the platform, working in collaboration with DanceWize, the Australian Festival Association, and web development team Exhibitionist, to roll out the harm reduction tool. We also created a promotional campaign across digital and physical music festival spaces to drive traffic to the Party Safe platform.

OUR APPROACH

The creative challenge? Not to be the party pooper boomers in the room. Which meant making it clear to users that DanceWize isn't pushing an anti-drug agenda. They’re the cool aunts, who’ve got your back and just want to see you get home safe.

THE INTERFACE

To turn up the fun factor on an otherwise lifeless quiz, we did as any bored kid would do and turned it into a game. We borrowed the swipe function from dating apps to appeal to our target audience of 18-25 year olds, an interface they’re intimately familiar with.

THE ANIMATION

The card designs consisted of 15 animated artwork loops. To keep players engaged on the important subject matter, we had to keep things interesting. So, our animation aimed to playful surprise and delight users with a sense of humour and to emulate a feeling of euphoria. Think blinking eyes having psychedelic visions and tumbling pills tumbling with a life of their own.

THE DESIGN

Inspired by 90s-era arcade machines, we created a bold colour scheme with clashing neon accents in keeping with the era. When illustrating the visual motifs, we wanted to lean away from familiar drug culture aesthetics. Which, for us, meant a hard ban on anything tie dye. Sorry, not sorry.
